Based in Jerseyville, ON., LODGE Soy Candles is authentically Indigenous: using natural essential oils derived from ancient plant knowledge and cultural wisdom in its candles and promoting values of sustainability, self-care and mindfulness, to reflect founder Angela DeMontigny's Indigenous heritage.

MARCH 2022

I had a chance to create promotional content for Rexall's collaboration with LODGE. This new curated wellness collection made three Indigenous wellness brands more accessible to city folks, by providing cap end displays in ten locations across Canada. One of the videos I created was featured in a blogTO article published March 2022.

NOVEMBER DECEMBER 2021

This special edition collection made in collaboration with healer Asha Frost was released November 2021, in celebration of the beauty and healing that comes from the Winter Solstice. With photos done by Joel Smith, I maintained the promotional graphics on the website, email newsletter, and on social media.

JUNE — AUGUST 2021

Designed to celebrate Indigenous People's History Month, IPD, and the Summer Solstice, this special edition collection was created to honour all strong, beautiful and powerful Indigenous women leaders. I created the marketing plan, including promotional materials and social media content, to showcase the new products in an aesthetically pleasing light and to inform our followers about inspiring Indigenous women of the past and present in an Instagram series, as seen below.

MAY 2021 — JUNE 2022

Aside from product promotions, LODGE extended its Instagram platform to educate as well. I had the chance to plan, research, and design infographics for various issues and topics that LODGE value. Below are assets made for the start of National Indigenous History Month in June 2021, and the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation Day in September 2021. Then in two Valentine's Day Reels, as LODGE began to produce more video content in spring 2022.

MAY 2021 JUNE 2022

Another of series started in May 2021 was the ongoing Cree Language Fridayswhere DeMontigny shares a Cree word every week as she learned the language herself. These Cree words of the week often have a thematic significance, such as ᑖᐯᐧᐃᐧᐣ tâpwêwin (truth) for the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in Canada.

 

the rebrand + website

MAY — JUNE 2021

Working with DeMontigny and graphic designer Marianne Bird, I first assisted with the rebrand and website launch. This new era of LODGE was intended to encapsulate the brand's message and ambitions better, while leaving room for future growth. The tagline "the light within" blossomed from this, inspired by the spirit and energy within each of us. After updating brand identity, I reconstructed, designed and launched the new website.
